Okay, no one said, “NOOOO! NOT FLICKR!!! NOOOOOO!!!!” so I’ve put up a big new batch of pix, starting here. Please comment there or here!!

Okay! We are doing this! You bet! Let’s go!!
I’ve re-uploaded and re-captioned the “Current Pix” directory to Flickr. Please browse the set here. (No new pictures there yet, just the 113 I’d already posted in Current Pix.) If you encounter any difficulties, notice a missing caption, think something’s out of order, hate Flickr or otherwise need to complain about something, please comment here. If you have anything nice or supportive or funny to say about any of the pictures, please comment there, unless you don’t want to, in which case please comment here.
Once I’m satisfied that this Flickr thing is working for us and isn’t just some crazy fad that the kids are using these days, I’ll start uploading new pictures over there and we’ll go forward thuslike. Agreed?
Bored? Go here. It’s a webcam that points at the iconic crosswalk on Abbey Road. I propose the following game: Watch for 5 minutes and count how many times someone almost gets run over versus how many times a group of tourists successfully pulls off the “group crossing” picture. In my first round, I got 3 near-deaths to 1 perfect photo.
(Found from here.)
This video is so stupid-wonderful that I literally cannot stop thinking about it, and snickering.
The next time I see someone struggling with a computer problem, I’m going to jump right in and start typing on their keyboard with them, because four hands are better than two, baybee!!!
I hadn’t posted any new pictures since I said here, quite a while ago, that we would be moving the pictures over to Flickr. The yesterday I was like, I’m tired of waiting for us to finish all of the behind-the-scenes stuff we need to do to close out the old system, so I’m going to go ahead and post some more pictures the old way. What I forgot was that Anth has already closed comments on the old system, so you can’t comment on the new pictures. Frowny face. Oh well…
New batch of pictures up, starting here. These are mostly from our trip to New Hampshire last June.
Things I’m pleased to have accomplished in the past few days:
- Stocked up on ham at 60-70% off — all the stores are using whole hams as a loss leader this week, for Easter dinners. I’ve got about 30 lbs of super-cheap ham in the freezer now, which will provide at least 8-10 different meals for us in the coming months.
- Took Alice out shopping, hit about eight different stores, and found the cutest dress for her to wear to prom* next month. She was feeling hopeless about us ever finding a dress that would meet her exacting standards and tastes, so I’m really really pleased that my We Can Do It! attitude was vindicated for once. I can’t share any pictures until the night of the event, but trust me when I say we did good.
- Converted my shopping list from a text doc on my desktop to a Google Doc. Now Anth and I can access it from our iPhones, which means that any time he thinks of something we need, he can add it to the list, and any time I end up at a store thinking, “what else do we need while I’m here?” I can just pull up the list!!
(* Yes, prom!! 8th graders are invited to prom at our school. Yes, my mind boggles at the thought.)
(Well, one person asked…)
I’ve been wearing my toe ring for several years now, 24/7, so there’s no weather-related ring decisions to be made any more. I wasn’t really into painting my toenails last summer, but this summer, who knows?
Okay, this is not what good ol’ T. was talking about, but… Today it was 80°, sunny, breezy, balmy and beautiful. We were all out in our shorts and our bare feet and our fresh air and our SUMMER. Tomorrow it’s going to be back in the 50s, grey and rainy. April does this to us every year, and every year it sucks. It’s going to be a massive struggle to get everyone dressed in layers again after this taste of the easy life (pull on a little dress, slip on some sandals, and go!). Expect grumpiness and sulkiness throughout the land for the rest of the week.
Me: Sammi, you are a twisted individual.
Sammi: I thought I was a sick little monkey!
Me: Okay, you’re a sick and twisted monkey individual.
Sammi: ……Not enough monkey.
It’s the first of the month, and you know what that means — exciting announcements throughout the interwebs!!!
Google is rolling out some really cutting-edge technology. I can’t wait to create a pie chart, with the help of my friends, in Google Docs Motion!!
Thinkgeek has rolled out some wonderful new products. I’m ordering my Edible Gummy iPhone Case today!!!
Has anyone else got any awesome news to share??
