There’s a big batch of new pictures up, starting here. It’s a bit hat- and Sammi-centric. Enjoy.
I/we have seen some movies in the past month or two, and I never got around to talking about some of them. Here’s the short version.
- Paul – Raunchy, raucous, and profane. Emphatically not for everyone.
- Hop – Colorful and bland. It passed the time, but left little impression on me.
- Sucker Punch – Top-notch fanservice, oddly disappointing action. I hesitate to use the word “emasculated” to describe a movie so enthusiastically staffed with hawt chix, but it was very clear to me that the “heart” of the movie (such as it could have been) was excised in order to avoid an R-rating.
- Priest – Well-paced and tight. Possibly too tight — could have used another 10 minutes of ass-kicking, and about 3 minutes less of various people riding motorcycles across various wastelands.
There’s a new batch of pictures up, from our trip to Rehoboth Beach last August, starting here. I hope we get to go again this year!!
If you’d like to chip in on the only thing she wants, you can click on the cute little picture of her riiiiiight over there –>
She’s almost halfway to her goal, and every little bit helps!!
There is a small set of lovely pictures from last night’s event here.
Well, I made it to the 15th, which was my survival goal for May. Now that we’ve got prom, Philly field trip, Anth’s 40th birthday, ballet end-of-year party, ballet recital, Mother’s Day, 3/wk ballet practices, yearbook pages, 3rd & 8th grade testing, and middle school graduation out of the way, the rest of the month should be significantly more relaxing. Plus today is National Chocolate Chip Day!
There’s all kinds of stuff I’m supposed to be doing right now. So, hey! Pictures! The new batch starts here.
This morning was the ceremony at Alice’s school whereby the 8th graders officially move up to 9th grade, and the high school. Sweet things were said by her teachers about her intelligence, maturity, leadership, and the way she helps the other students with their work when the teachers are overwhelmed. (This is a good thing, because at the moment her career goal is to become a middle school teacher at her school, so she’s right on track for that. ) The side effect of her having passed through this ceremony is that she is now officially invited to prom, which is on Saturday. Good thing she already has her dress, shoes, purse, earrings, necklace, and decorative mask (it’s a Venetian Masquerade theme this year)! Alice took two high school-level courses this year: Japanese I and Global Cultures. She’s really enjoyed them and is very excited about entering HS for real!!
Here is the first picture of her as a new high schooler. (Well, technically, it’s the second picture, because she was doing something weird with her mouth in the first picture. Heh.) And this is just for comparison. Awwww…
